Country 45: Djibouti - Mukbasa
I made this so long ago that I do not remember it. According to the date stamp of my photograph it was the 16th February 2021. It's now May 2022... Definitely a bit of a hiatus!
This is the recipe that I followed.
Because I don't remember it, I can't make any comments about it. Apparently it was actually a Yemeni recipe but in all of my research for food in Djibouti it kept coming up, and because Djibouti is just across the water from Yemen it makes sense that they borrow a lot from each other's cooking styles.
This is the only photo I took of the entire thing and my only notes that I wrote about it is that it was the first time I'd ever butterflied a fish - looking at the picture it looks like I served it with fried plantain, a wrap, and some broccoli for greenery.
The photo of the fish looks pretty decent though!
