Burkina Faso: French Green Beans

The French colonised Burkina Faso and as such they influenced the cuisine of the country. This is a simple side dish using French green beans, Burkinabé style.




French Green Beans
Serves 2

Ingredients
  • 230g French green beans
  • 1/4 white onion, sliced thinly
  • 1/2 chilli pepper, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper
Instructions
  1. In a frying pan over a medium high heat, cook the onions in vegetable oil until translucent.
  2. Add all other ingredients and cook until beans are tender.
  3. Season to taste and serve.
